In March 2012, a small band of soft-cogs travelled across the Tasman to Auckland to compete in the teams Half Ironman. The soft-cogs are all about teams, and what a great way to introduce ourselves into the sport of triathlon by doing it with buddies? That was the birth of the "IronCogs".

There were two teams, one who were out to get a spot, and the other, who had NEVER raced that distance in their life. Team "IronCogs" (novices) not only completed the distance, but smashed their expectations to come 20th of 50 teams! Team "We're IronCogs Two" smashed it also and missed out on podium... coming 4th of 50!!

So much fun, and we all thank our supporters who allow us to train, travel and partake in this selfish sport of ours. Also a big thanks to Benny Vegebanger of Crux Designs who designed our cool kit just for the event.
